DO I NEED TO BE 18 TO PURCHASE TICKETS? Yes. You must be 18 years of age or older at the time you purchase tickets. The raffle winner will be required to provide identification with proof of age to claim raffle prizes.
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY TICKET? You will receive an email after you complete your purchase on our GiveSmart platform for confirmation of your raffle ticket purchase.
WHEN AND HOW WILL YOU SELECT THE WINNER? The drawing for the winner will take place at the We're Growing TOGETHER Gala on 3/15/2025 at 9 pm Winning tickets are selected from the pool of purchased raffle ticket numbers using automated, random number generator software.
HOW WILL THE WINNER RECEIVE THE DETAILS OF THE WINNING TICKET? A voucher with the details of Trip options will be given to the winner at Gala checkout or available at Associated Bank on Saturday, April 5th, from 9 am-12 noon. Or you can email HEF@hamiltoneducationfoundation.org to set up a pickup.
TRIP DESTINATION NEEDS TO BE SELECTED BY? March 4th BY 5 PM. Depending on trip, winner will have two or three years to book travel.
HOW MANY RAFFLE TICKETS ARE BEING SOLD? The raffle is limited to the first 100 tickets sold. Each ticket has a 1 in 100 chance of winning the prize; provided that the odds are subject to change dependent upon the total number of chances sold.
WHEN DO RAFFLE TICKET SALES END? Raffle tickets can be purchased online at https://hef007gala2024.givesmart.com until Saturday, March 15th, 2025, at 7:30 pm.
HOW MANY WINNERS WILL THERE BE? There will only be one (1) winner chosen who will receive the trip.
HOW MANY TICKETS CAN I BUY? You may purchase as many tickets as you choose.
IS MY TICKET PURCHASE TAX DEDUCTIBLE? No. The IRS does not recognize raffle ticket purchases as a tax-deductible contribution.
DO I NEED TO LIVE IN A SPECIFIC STATE OR AREA TO BUY A TICKET? This raffle is open to all US states that allow out-of-state raffle ticket purchasing and participation. The raffle is VOID in states where prohibited by law. Please check your state raffle laws for clarification and the legality of purchasing options.
WHAT METHODS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT? We currently accept Visa and MasterCard through GiveSmart online at the link above. All transactions are final.
HOW DO YOU GENERATE THE TICKETS/TICKET NUMBERS? Your ticket numbers are auto-assigned by order of date and time through our GiveSmart platform upon completion of your payment.
NOTIFICATION: All winners will be notified via email and or phone shortly after the drawing. We will also post the winner on the website by 2 am on 3/15/25.
DO I HAVE ANY TAX LIABILITY IF I WIN? Potentially. The taxable value of the prize will be treated as ordinary income to the winner for federal and state income tax purposes, and the winner will be required by law to pay any tax liability incurred in connection with his/her receipt of the prize, if any. If you are a raffle winner, it is important that you determine what federal, state, and/or local taxes you must pay, and you are encouraged to consult with an accountant or tax preparer to make that determination.
WHAT IS THE VALUE OF THE PRIZE PACKAGE? is $2,000.
Detailed instructions will be included on the issued certificate. Valid for a variety of dates throughout the year. Subject to availability when you book. There is a wide variety of hotels available for this package. The hotels available depend on the check-in date. There are typically more options available outside of peak season and during weeknights. The primary traveler must be at least 21 years old. Paid upgrades
and extended dates may be available when you book. Reservations must be booked at least 90 days in advance. Travel must be booked within 12 months and completed within 24 months. All bookings are non-cancellable, non-modifiable (i.e., changes to travelers and dates), and non-transferrable. Some resorts charge local taxes at check-in, as well as a refundable deposit upon arrival. Certain optional amenities, such as parking, may require an additional fee at the property. The estimate of taxes and fees will be disclosed while you are submitting your booking request. The same traveler cannot buy multiple of the same certificate and redeem them for a single reservation. Airfare, transfers, meals and activities are not included unless specifically listed under Trip Details.
By participating in the Golden Ticket Trip Raffle, the participant agrees that the Hamilton Education Foundation has no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind that result from the use of the prize or participation in the contest.
